Sometimes the recovery runs are the best, all the hard work is done already, there is no pressure, the distance and pace are easy. England has many roads of varying sizes, widths, with pavements, without, grassy verges, gravel tracks, muddy footpaths, hedge lined... being able to turn any given direction and be faced with an entirely new running environment is really interesting and challenging.
